Fired due to dress code…

I read an article about a lesbian getting fired because she chose to wear men’s suits over the office dress code set for females. Of course the company insists the cause of her firing was due to her being late but she begs to differ.

I get the fact that unless its for safety reasons then yes I am for using proper dress code/uniforms, but I find it odd that being subjected to normal wear for the company to maintain its own self image might have to consider our changing times. Unless the company is representing or beliefs conservative/contemporary views then maybe employees should state the dress code and not hire those who clearly are against it.

Conservative/contemporary norms of wear is constantly being questioned at work. Therefore, if the job is getting done and unless there is a safety concern that the employee is clearly going against then yes I am for dress codes. If not, then I would suggest company policy needs to reconsider this matter.
